Winter Blues to Spring Hues

Winter blues have you longing for spring hues? We certainly are here. Being stuck inside this time of year can bring on winter blues, but you can brighten up your home and make things more cheerful with something as simple as bright, spring florals.

Faux florals can easily transition from winter to spring and bring a smile to your face! We are going to share some tips we have learned here at the shop to help you rejuvenate your home. Do you still have some faux winter pine sitting in one of your vases? Here at the shop we had a white tin container with cedar pine in it.

Don’t pack that pine away just yet! Did you know you can simply add bright spring tulip bunches to winter pine for a fresh and happy look? Hence the Winter Blues to Spring Hues!

In the next photo you will be able to see how we took a bunch of yellow real touch and white real touch tulips (which sell here at the store) and added them to our winter cedar. It brings a luster to the pine to carry you through the rest of the winter season.

Of course we like to decorate for the upcoming holidays here in the store and hopefully give you some creative ideas to do the same in your home. For an uncomplicated addition to this floral arrangement we added a bunny head ornament. You could use red and white tulips with a heart ornament for Valentine’s Day as well.

When winter comes to a close you can pack away your pine and move right on with everyday greens or add more bright florals. For our display I used mixed everyday greens and greens with pods. For some reason I just love pods on the faux greens and florals.

This is just one idea we had in store. When you get the winter blues it sure helps to add some bright spring hues to your space. Personally I love all things cheerful!

Spring is upon us!

As I start this blog post we have eighteen days until spring! While it has been a fairly mild winter here in West Virginia I am looking forward to longer, warmer days. One of the best parts of spring is everything beginning to feel lighter and more airy. Winter gives a feeling a heaviness to me. Perhaps it’s being shut inside so much, but letting all that winter staleness out surely feels good.

With us being a gift and home decor shop spring is always exciting here as well. We started cleaning, painting, and some light remodeling here in our main store back in January. There is still some work to finish up, but it has come along way over the last couple of months. The store looks so much cleaner and more open! If you are in our area we hope you take the time to stop in. Here are a couple of photos showing a before and after of our register area.

We are stocked up with beautiful valances, panels, rugs, and quilts to get your home ready for spring. We even have some spring sales on curtains. Some of them are listed on our website where you can see pricing and sizes. All are limited availability. Both the main shoppe and boutique are stocked with new Myra bags. We have bags for every style and occasion. Whether you are looking for a duffle, weekender, crossbody, handbag, or shoulder bag you are sure to find it here! I’ll drop a sample photo below, but there are so many I can’t post them all in this blog.

One last thing, I don’t want to forget rugs! Rugs for the door, in front of the kitchen sink, bathroom vanity, or shower, even large area rugs for the dining and living room areas. We have a huge selection of braided rugs! Braided rugs can complement many styles in the home. There are even some beautiful bath mats to choose from. Don’t forget rugs for your favorite furbaby too! I suppose that will be all for this little blog post! I know my posts are not like many others, but I am a simple girl from small rural area. Spring has Sprung 2022

Spring is popping up all around us. Hopefully we have had our last snowfall here in West Virginia. I have been seeing pictures of Easter Lilies coming up. What do you look forward to most for spring? I like spring cleaning and freshening up the look of my home. Also new spring and summer clothes are always fun! Check out below for this season’s new and upcoming home decor and clothes.

Who knew bees would make the cutest decorations? They fit for everything from “Bee Happy” on our T’s to valances, table top, wall, and porch/yard decor. We have some great options here at the store. You could add a small accent piece or go all out. There are even bee and sunflower “scrubbies” you can use on veggies or dishes. Adding to the whole ball of wax we have indoor/outdoor pillows, placemats, napkins, birdhouses, and trivets/coasters.

Spring Flowers is another favorite. While we do not add our florals to our website, we stock quite a bit in store. Yellows and blues are beautiful, bright colors. Garden flags, house flags, and mats would be another cheerful addition.

We really could present this whole blog in photographs. Of course, then we would have to change the photos weekly because our displays and merchandise change so quick. Hopefully you take the time to watch our Facebook Live videos. Even if you can’t watch it live go back for the replay. We always have fun showing our store and telling you folks what’s new!

With the boutique stocked in Simply Southern T’s and gifts, as well as, the cutest short bib overalls, and mixed material shacket you are sure to find something to love! Stock up for Easter baskets too.

Simply Southern totes make the perfect reusable Easter Baskets. There are pastel spring colors and these totes are great for everything! They wipe out easily or even spray out with a water hose. Take off to the pool, lake, beach, or keep for groceries, baby items, kids toys, soccer fields. You really can’t go wrong with one of these. These sell out fast!
